uhm, im completely new to linux.
i managed to install a theme or two but most of theme come in tar.bz2 or .7z and in this .7z there are just files, no .tar.gz to install
and im stuck here two - i went to system > appearance > install, followed the insructions to extract the .7z and there were two .tar.gz, i tried to install them, it said "theme installed correctly. apply?" i clicked "yes" and it just changed the colour and thats that - no new window borders, now new icons T_T
im totally lost, please, help me a little ^_^

Gtk themes are stored in .themes folder just extract the folder and copy to the .themes folder... (on nautilus view hidden folders will bring up .themes) Window borders needed to be imported by emerald theme manager. (stored in .emerald)

hidden folders start with .

then you can change themes using appearance and emerald theme manager

im running ubuntu 9.10 with gnome gui
could u tell me the exact dir to the folder ".themes"
i went to Edit> properties in Nautilis and checked to display hidden folders and tried to search for ".themes" but with no result
just giving me the dir would be most helpful ^_^

thanks, i looked around and found out how things work
i go to Home and do Ctrl+H and it displays hidden files/folder just for the current dir and i see the two folders .icons and .themes and i extract the arcihves of either icons or themes and it works perfectly, thanks ^_^

hi seanbarman,

Could you crack the famous Aurora Unified Suite gtk theme by using mostly aurora engine?

Thanks.

hi,

I will be interested in gnome3;)
Don't know nothing about when or how the author will release it, or probably never.

Its screenshots can be find on gnome-look.org. I think it's really awesome.
